Urban internet news. Tired of your current home internet provider? Paying too much? You have options you may not be aware of! One such option is The Urban Internet Company. You can visit their website www.urbaninternetcompany.ca to see which home internet plans that they can offer you.

They offer home internet plans in most urban areas in Canada over existing cable TV lines, with the line included (but no cable TV channels), including Toronto & the GTA, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Quebec City, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Victoria, Halifax, Oshawa, Windsor, Saskatoon, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg, Quebec City, Hamilton, Kitchener, London, Victoria, Halifax, Oshawa, Windsor, Saskatoon, St. Catharines, Niagara Falls, St. John's, Kelowna, Barrie, Niagara Falls, St. John's, Kelowna, Barrie, Sherbrooke, Guelph, Abbotsford, Kingston, Milton, Moncton, White Rock, Nanaimo, and Lethbridge.

As long as you are not locked into a term contract with another internet service provider, you can usually transfer to The Urban Internet Company. No transfer fee (on most networks). No contracts. They use cable company installers to do installation / activation, and for any trouble calls. (An install/activation fee usually applies for new activation, intended to cover actual costs of cable company install/activation charges they pay if you are not transferring from another cable internet provider at that address.)

They do not take sales inquiries by phone, only through their website (credit card required). For this reason their phone number is not listed on their website.

Modem required, bring your own suitable modem, or buy, or rent one from them.

Areas not serviced include: Yukon, NWT, Nunavut, Regina, Brandon, parts of Surrey, parts of Kanata, and places on the Western Canada portion of the Eastlink cable TV network. If cable TV and cable internet were not available for your address before, they not able to service your address for cable internet either.

If you are not sure if they can service your address or not, they have a Postal Code lookup box on their website. They also provide a contact form, that you can use to send them a message asking them to manually do a free check of your home street address in the computer systems and reply to you by email within about 24 hours with a firm answer as to if they can service your address or not, and which plans.
